Students create a personal interactive Grammar Notebook, step-by-step, as Alice Nine introduces each part of speech, examining definitions and properties in depth.
Camp 2: All about Sentences
Students continue creating a personal interactive Grammar Notebook as Alice Nine introduces sentence elements (i.e., subjects, predicates, phrases, clauses, predicate complements), types of sentences (i.e., declarative, interrogative, compound, complex), and punctuation.
Grammar Graphics are color graphics to be cut/pasted in the student notebook during each Lesson.

Grammar Boot Camp is an introduction to the nuts and bolts of English grammar. In this course, veteran teacher and staff developer Alice Nine front-loads the essentials of English grammar in two courses. Grammar Boot Camp 1 (20 lessons) is about Parts of Speech; Grammar Boot Camp 2 (24 lessons) is about sentences. Each lesson ranges from 20 to 30 minutes.
Alice Nine puts grammar information into concise charts to support visual memory and uses graphics to illustrate and simplify rules and concepts. During these front-loading lessons, students create a personal interactive Grammar Notebook, step-by-step with Alice Nine. At the end of each lesson is a retrieval practice formatted as a review quiz. The purpose of this quiz is not for assessment or grading. The purpose is to provide opportunities for students to say and hear the language of grammar (e.g., terms such as abstract nouns, verb tense, subject, predicate, phrase, clause) and to practice using their Grammar Notebook. There are both digital and paper versions of the quiz. Grammar Boot Camp is the place where students are introduced to grammar; where the pieces of grammar are front-loaded and recorded in their notebooks. Mastery will happen as grammar is bridged to text. Alice Nine provides this bridge in courses, i.e., Grammar Boot Camp Sentences. Course printables include:
